I am so sad that your family had to go through that. I know how you feel. My grandmother has a problem with drinking and it's affecting our family so much, it hurts. We feel like we can't go on any longer. You are blessed with beautiful children and your prayers are with me always. Even though your son is no longer with us, I belive he is still looking down at us and making sure we make the right decisions when it comes to drugs. Please e-mail me back. ThAnK yOu~*

If he wanted to start his own company and stuff like that he should of known that drugs wouldn't of got him there. I think you are doing the right thing going to schools and talkin about this. You really changed my mind about doing drugs. I was going to try it, but when you talked it made me think twice about doing it. Since what happen to your son.

I do the same type of work as you do, except I talk about my life , and how heroin had destroyed my life. I also tell young people the grim realitys of heroin and all drugs. I lived most of my life in a gang and live with the consequences of my actions today. Young people have to listen to those who have been affected by this dreaded disease called addiction, life is based on choices, we have to help them make the right choice and not fall prey to the drug.I wish you all the best in what you are doing for the youth of today, and tomorrow. Like you, very popular, and very athletic in school. From what I read it sounds like he had so much going for him. But I want to say, you and Larry are doing a great job and your contributions to this program is so much appreciated and meaningful to everyone. Comments: I have an 18 year old son who I believe has a drug problem. I never really believed it until 3 weeks ago, when he threw me across the room into the wall. The look in eyes, the strength he had.. i then knew in my heart. It has been a year of hell at home with him. We thought it was only because of his girl friend being so possesive and controlling. Then he started calling us names, spitting on me, breaking the front door, etc. My son and I had such a strong bond that I can't believe he could do this to his own mother. He has mostly abusive towards me. He is getting worse. He doesnt come home for days, has new friends, steals from us. We have kicked him out a few times within in the past couple months. He went out with his girlfriend for a year and she has broken up with him. She is seeing someone else. This all happened in March and since then it has been really bad at home. He is a gifted baseball player and got a full paid scholarship to college. He was the starting shortstop this year(as a freshman) Division 1 baseball. well since March and the breakup with this girl he stopped going to classes and failed every class this spring. He received a letter from his college telling him that he cannot return to their school for a year... Baseball was his life.. making it to the Pro's was his dream.. I believe he has given up on everything.. I won't give up on him.. ever ...

Comments: There are probably thousands of parents who will never, ever understand the favor that Ginger has accomplished for them thru her program. But she has and given so fully and completely. There are thousands of other parents who have lost their child to drugs but they remain silent or just fade off into oblivion hoping to die quickly so they may join their loved one.

That takes one heck of alot of courage to overcome the daily agony losing a loved one causes . Of course, no amount of adulation given to her for this selfess work will repay her for the loss of Ian. Still I'm sure she appreciates what thanks you might give her. So take a few minutes and let her know that you appreciate her work! I do and her efforts help me to continue fighting on too.

so take care and God bless and remember that substance abuse can take anyone down. We will all have to work together to put even a dent in it. Its that bad!
