Comments: Dear Ginger! First of all i should say that i'm really sorry for your son- who, as i understood, was very nice guy. What words of consolation can be said, when such tragedy happens? i can't imagine how you can live with this pain. I admire you, your strength, the courage to speak you've found in yourself to do what you are doing. Your work is really great and i'm sure it has saved, is saving and will save many teenagers and their parents. Unfortunately the third world war has already started- war against drugs. Until i've seen this site i thought nothing could be done to win in this war but now i've changed my mind: together we can defeat drugs.

Comments: I'm very sorry for you have lost your sun. I believe he was really a nice young man. But, unfortunately, such things can happen to anyone of us. nowadays the problem of drugs is very important, especially for parents, who want to protect their children. as I'm a teenager, I can say that a lot of my friends had tried marijuana at least once. the problem is that they don't care about their families or lifes, they just want to feel good here and now. they all believe that they won't become addict, but for some smoking mari is a daily need... I don't know how to help them, they just don't listen to me. and there's nobody to show them the result of such kind of hobby. I want to thank you for your work. it's now very hard to find a person, who would be very concerned about others. THANK YOU!

Comments: There are no words to say when a parent has lost a child. The pain if endless. When the child had died from the disease of addiction there is often a stigma attached to the death. The parent cannot grieve and get support the way some others do. The sadness and ignorance of this needs to stop. The only way to do this is through the breaking of denial and the education of others. I am happy to be given "the courage to speak" by this group.

Comments: Hello, I just wanted to say how sorry I am about the loss of your son. My handsome, intelligent, humorous and loving son died of an apparent(we haven't gotten the autopsy results yet)heroin overdose on February 28, 2002, coincidently in New Haven, CT. Jason was not an "addict" but dabbled in a little bit of everything. He and his girlfriend had been staying with me and their dog was in Connecticut (where she is from). Jason had met a new "friend" who offered to drive him to CT to pick up their dog. He left my house on Tuesday evening, gave me his usual kiss goodbye, told me he loved me and not to worry he would be safe and would be home in a couple of days. I got a telephone call Thursday afternoon saying that my son was dead. He and his "new friend" and gotten an apparently small amount of heroin and shot it up. His friend woke up the next morning fine and Jason never woke up. He was sleeping a deep sleep and his friend couldn't awaken him. He left him there for several hours and when he returned to the hotel room he could still couldn't wake him up. He put him in a shower and Jason stopped breathing. It was only after he failed at CPR that he decided to call 911. It was six hours after he knew that he couldn't wake my son from his "deep sleep". By the time the parmedics got there he was unrevivable. April 16th he would have been 27 years old and we celebrated his birthday by having his headstone placed on his grave that morning. (It was a coincidence). I don't know how I will ever make it through this. I can't imagine never seeing his smile or his twinkling eyes again. I stumbled on the Ourwall.net site and have found some comfort there. For some reason I can't talk to him at his grave but when I write in "ourwall's" guestbook I feel like I am talking to him. His name was Jason Christopher Carter Heisler and he is in Column 8. It is unbelievable how many names have been added since his. I want to try to find someone to help me set up a website for him after viewing all of the beautiful tributes at ourwall. If you can point me in the right direction it would be very much appreciated. It would mean a lot to me if you would look him up on the wall and read some of the things people have written in the last month to him in the guestbook. My only solice is that he has found the peace that he strived for daily. I know he will always be with me in my heart but would give my life for one more hug and kiss from him. Thanks for listening and please feel free to e-mail me. It helps to have someone that actually understands the pain a mother goes through after losing her most precious gift to this awful drug.

I never thought so untill I found myself experimenting heavely with harder drugs only a few years after I first smoked pot. Fortunately I recently realized where I was going with my life, which was nowhere, and I stopped the harder stuff. So your presentation didn't really influence me because I already know that heavy drugs can only ruin your life. But what your doing is great because I'm sure you've reached many kids and will continue to do the same in the future. Thankyou,
