He is now in prison and will probably die there. The effect it had on me and my siblings can not be described in words. Comments: I have been looking online for something that 'says it all.' My boyfriend has smoked heroin for 6 years, since his mum died. I've known him for three years and he never lied about his addiction. I'm 17 now, and Chris is 24. I fell in love with him because he needed me. He fell in love with me because I wanted to help him and would do anything for him. Your website has had me crying my heart out for over an hour, I'm still sobbing as I type this. If Ian's girlfriend knew about the drugs, she will have imagined his death and how she would cope with it for so long, as I do. I can't control his life, but I can't be part of it if this is going to continue. It has him in the vice, as it had Ian. I am so sorry for your loss, I have gone over and over Chris's death in my head so many times, wondering how I could cope with it. I'm so sure that the day will arise when I really need to. I hope this Organisation is still accessible at that time, I'll need it :) I wish I could talk to Ian and ask him for his help, I wish I could ask anyone for help! I'll stop typing now, but you'll all be in my heart for a while. Thank you for touching my life, I hope you're content with the belief that Ian is away from anything that can harm him now. The only remaining suffering is our own. Ian, thank you for polishing the stars so brightly each night. Sweet dreams to him, and good luck to everyone else. Alison xxx

I guess your presentation really "hit home" because just a couple months ago, my best friend died in a car accident and her and the drive tested positive for drugs. You came to my school (Spring-Ford High School) just this past Monday. I have heard several lectures on drugs, and how they arent good for you. I never experienced with drugs because i knew that it was bad for you, but i have friends who have. I sat there and listened to every word of your speech. I was truly touched. I almost cried. I lost one of my best friends last May due to a drug called Ectasy. He took it once and it killed him. The first time he took it, it killed him. Drugs can make people do some crazy things. I lost a friend who drove his car off a bridge and was killed because he smoked laced marijuana. Ian's story touched me and will b with me in my head. Thank You for your very motavating speech.

Billy lost his battle with drugs and alcohol on MOTHER'S DAY 2002 age 38. Tormented and alone he died as he lay on a cold kitchen floor to be found over 12 hours later....left there to die by a woman and her sister who just didn't care enough to try to SAVE him....and just as sick as he was. And now...he leaves behind a broken hearted Mother who had to see his cold discolored body laying on a gourney in the morgue in Shelton, CT. May Billy FINALLY be resting in peace.I loved you then, I love you now. "MA"

Midway through I was sniffling and trying not to let the tears fall, but by the end I did not care and the tears fell freely down my face. Ian's story had such an effect on me, the first thing I did when I got back to Vermont was to give my own mother a big hug and thank her for all that she has done for me throughout the years, then I told her about the wonderful woman who told a story I will never in my life forget. Comments: I just want to say what a wonderful organization you have started! It is great to see some positive motion from such a tragic experience. I lost my mother to the disease gez, was it 10 years ago, I was just barely 12 at the time. It impacted me greatly, and until I graduated high school I kept my vow not to touch drugs. But college made that all change and I was drawn to my mother's sickness. I thought they were my friends, and I just wanted to fit in- being so far away from home. But they weren't. And after trying many drugs I found my self looking for them, and feeling like they weren't that bad. One summer vacation my father told me straight out "You have a problem and you need to fix it. I will not lose you to this. Fix it, or I will put you in rehab. It's tough love, but remember, it is love!" I went back to school and I was able to step away from the path I was heading, but I realized that I had no friends! I had given up everything for a fix, and now that I didn't want one, all the people I had known felt uncomfortable around me. It was so hard, and it still is. I had to leave school and try to make it on my own, and every once and awhile I see someone I once knew. But I know it was worth it, I know what my mother's sickness did to me, how much it hurt to lose her, because she was so great and dynamic. And when I want to remember her laughter or smile I can't. But I have my family, and I have life and everytime a fix happens to be near, I know it is worth saying NO, and walking away. Its hard, but life is something to cherish. Thank you very much for providing this site and all you do, you make it easier for me to go day by day!
