Welcome to Courage to Speak Family Night.

Dear Friends:

Welcome to “Save a Child’s Life Night”.

It’s about one thing.

Parents and children talking honestly about drugs.

There are many programs that dance around the problem – that try to “scare you straight”.

We don’t.

We know the pain of watching drugs take a child’s life.   We want to make sure you see and feel that danger before it becomes a  heartbreak.

This is the Courage to Speak Foundation’s only reason for being.

How I wish this night - this meeting - was available when my son Ian was still alive.

A drug overdose killed him.  He was only 20.

For more than a decade we’ve told Ian’s story to more than a million young people and parents here in Connecticut and across the nation.

We know that The Courage to Speak live presentations, video, and drug prevention
curriculum your child participated in this year have saved lives.

Students tell us after each program   "I'll never do drugs. I didn't really know how bad they
could be." We're here to help you make sure your children get this message in their heart before it’s too late.

So enjoy the evening, be proud of what your child has accomplished, learn everything you can about drugs and how they can affect your child.  And, in the future, sign up for our new program called Courage to Speak -Courageous Parenting 101, for parents only.

Please don’t endure the pain we did —
and thank you for taking an enormous step toward saving your child’s life here tonight.

Ginger Katz
CEO and Founder and Author of Sunny’s Story
